OVERVIEW

The ScholarMatch LA Scholars Program is a free program designed to help you thrive in college and graduate successfully with the skills you need to succeed in a fulfilling career.

LA Scholars will join small-group cohorts for monthly virtual workshops during college. Your cohort will provide you with the opportunity to share experiences, seek advice, and build out your support networks.You will also receive personalized support from ScholarMatch college advisors and peer mentors, and will be able to access a basic needs grant.

Individualized Peristence Advising
  • Match with a caring and experienced ScholarMatch college advisor available to advise and support you during one-on-one virtual meetings
  • Get monthly advisor emails and texts with resources and support
Collaborative group advising sessions
  • Join 12 monthly group advising sessions with your fellow LA Scholars
  • Group sessions will help you complete college tasks and milestones
  • Groups are co-facilitated by your ScholarMatch advisor and peer mentor
Peer Mentoring
  • Receive mentoring from a current ScholarMatch fist-generation college student
  • Peer mentors will offer opportunities for individual support and engage with you in online community and peer discussions

How to apply

Thank you for your interest in applying to the ScholarMatch LA Scholars program! 

‍Application Requirements‍

  • Ensure you meet our minimum eligibility requirements listed above
  • Complete and submit an application comprised of demographic information and short questions

 Information & Working Sessions

  • 1 hour information and working sessions will be held weekly from March 5th through April 15th. Check Information & Working Sessions dropdown for dates, click date for zoom links.
  • The 1 hour meetings will be split into a 30 minute information session followed by a 30 minute working session.
