Virtual College Coach Volunteering
The Program
In partnership with CollegePoint, ScholarMatch provides free, individualized, virtual college admission counseling to low-income, high-achieving students nationwide.
As a virtual College Coach, you will be matched with two incoming high school seniors and equipped with thorough training and support from our staff to help your students navigate the college admissions process. From building a strong college list to perfecting the personal statement, you will provide essential guidance to promising but under-resourced college applicants. This opportunity works well for busy professionals; volunteers commit approximately 4-6 hours per month June 2019 – June 2020, and create life-changing opportunities for students.
Why Virtual Volunteer Marilyn Rutz Levy Loves College Access (and Flamingos)
“If there’s anything that I could do to get students into school and keep them there, even if it’s just one by one, that’s my motivation.”
It’s dedicated volunteers like Marilyn that make this work possible. Take a moment to learn about her experience to get a sense of what yours could look like!
