Dr. Terrance Mayes is a strategic leader in people and culture, with a career dedicated to advancing inclusive excellence in higher education and academic medicine. Currently serving as the Interim Associate Dean for Human Resources at Stanford School of Medicine, Dr. Mayes has held multiple leadership roles at Stanford. During his career, Dr. Mayes has mentored and supported thousands of individuals to pursue education and careers in STEM, healthcare, and academia. At the national level, Dr. Mayes has advocated for policy innovations at the National Institutes for Health (NIH), the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS), and the American Association for Medical Colleges (AAMC). A native of Fresno, CA, Dr. Terrance Mayes holds a BA Degree in Communication from California State University, Fresno, an MS Degree in Organizational Leadership from National University, and a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from the University of California, San Diego, and California State University, San Marcos.
