Paloma grew up in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, surrounded by nature, books, and the arts. Her upbringing amid Brazil’s rich culture fueled her curiosity and love of storytelling, ultimately leading to a career in film and video editing. Eager to explore the world and lured in by New England charm, she moved to Boston, MA, to expand her horizons and further her education. Many snowstorms later, she headed west, excited to embrace California’s diversity and progressive culture. Since arriving in the Bay Area, she has been working for education nonprofits focused on educational equity and committed to helping students thrive. A first-generation college graduate herself, she is excited to use her experience to help advance ScholarMatch’s mission of supporting students through college and beyond.
