College access services and a pathway to college support for first-gen students
Welcome!
Kayne Destination College is a college access program for students of the Los Angeles area run by ScholarMatch. It is a flexible program, offering both remote and in-person services for 300 high school students who are the first in their family to attend college. Eligible students who participate in Kayne Destination College will be invited to apply to Kayne Scholars and other scholarship programs to support their college journey.
Recruiting Affiliates play a key role in identifying students to join Kayne Destination College and should use this resource page to inform their internal recruitment process.
How It Works
Juniors Apply: High school juniors are invited to apply beginning November 1st. Application remains open until program capacity is filled.
Student & Coach Match: Students are matched with a College Coach who works with the student via phone, email and text for the year as they apply to college. Students may also receive drop-in support at the ScholarMatch’s LA College Center.
Milestone Completion: Students complete their “College Ready Milestones” to apply to college.
Seniors Apply to Continue: Spring of senior year, eligible students who complete their Milestones can apply to ScholarMatch’s college program as a Kayne Scholar or other scholarship partner.
College Support: Students who are accepted to continue with ScholarMatch as a Kayne Scholar or another scholarship partner will receive advising, financial support and career mentoring all the way to college graduation.
