Career Community Orientation

Complete the 3 sections below to begin helping students launch their careers!

Step 1: Overview of ScholarMatch

Please review the following presentation for an overview of ScholarMatch, our mission and programs, and an introduction to our students.

*To view the slides in full-screen mode, please click on the gray menu button on the bottom-right corner.

Once you’ve thoroughly reviewed the slides, answer the questions in this short form to complete Part 1 of your orientation.

Step 2: Learn about the Career Community

Watch this presentation for an overview of how our Career Community works. Once you complete the Career Coach training and pass a background check, you’ll receive access to this page.

*To view the slides in full-screen mode, hover over the bottom right corner of the presentation and click the expand arrows.

Step 3: Complete your Coach Profile

Now that you’ve learned more about ScholarMatch, our programs, and how our Career Community works, it’s time to create your Coach Profile. Use the below form to let us know more about you! We’ll be sharing your profile in our Career Community gallery, which will be accessible to both Coaches and students.

Review these 3 resources to help you get the most out of your experience as a Career Coach within the ScholarMatch community.

Coaching Logs

After each interaction, we request that both Coaches and students capture notes from the meeting. Career Coaches complete a Career Coaching Log to share takeaways from the meeting and students’ next steps. This will help us better understand our students’ needs and is a great opportunity for you to provide feedback on how we can improve our program.

Meeting Guide

We created a meeting guide to help you get the most out of each coaching interaction with your student! On the meeting guide, you’ll find a list of coaching questions to help guide you through a typical conversation with your student(s).

Crisis Management & Emergency Protocol

Although it is not a common occurrence, our students may describe or exhibit behaviors that may concern you. Please use this guide to identify and address emergency situations.
