The Bon Vivants

The Bon Vivants Scholarship makes college possible for San Francisco youth.

JOIN US IN SUPPORTING STUDENTS

Josh Harris of The Bon Vivants has partnered with ScholarMatch to champion first-generation college students.

It is ever more clear that, as a community, we need to redouble our efforts to create a more racially just and equitable society. Accordingly, we are pleased to announce that we are adjusting the criteria for our next Bon Vivants Scholarship – awarded in partnership with ScholarMatch each year since 2019 – to promote racial and social equity through the power of a college education. Beginning with the next award in 2021, The Bon Vivants Scholarship will be awarded to a young Black student residing or attending school in San Francisco.

Contributions to The Bon Vivants Scholarship Fund will cover scholarships and in-depth support services for five students as they work their way towards college graduation and the launch of their careers.

THE BON VIVANTS SCHOLARSHIP

Too many first-generation students drop-out of college because of financial limitations and emergencies beyond the cost of tuition. The targeted funds students receive as part of ScholarMatch’s Bon Vivants Scholarship Program ensure that students can buy textbooks, pay housing deposits, engage in social activities, and more.

The Bon Vivants Scholarship is currently supporting two students: Gissela G, a Sophomore at San Jose State University, and Xinjian C., a Freshman at UCLA.  One more student per year will be selected for each of the next three years to join the program. The Bon Vivants and friends are excited to follow these students’ progress over the coming years as they pursue their bachelor’s degrees.

About Bon Vivants Hospitality

Bon Vivants Hospitality, founded in 2009, is one part hospitality group and one part brand agency. Using their businesses and network to raise money for organizations that the company believes in has always been a priority for The Bon Vivants. As of the beginning of 2019, The Bon Vivants have donated over $500,000 to non-profits both in their home of San Francisco, as well as cities across the country.

The Bon Vivants is a trade advocacy and events agency, working with some of the greatest brands in the business and founder of their own national philanthropic event series, Pig & Punch. The other is Bon Vivants Hospitality, whose mission is opening bars and restaurants defined by thoughtful sophistication and a true sense of authenticity, while expanding the philanthropic efforts so important to the original vision of The Bon Vivants.

BVHospitality owns two cocktail bars in San Francisco’s Mission District. Bon Voyage! opened its disco doors in October 2018, and Trick Dog opened in January 2013. Trick Dog has earned a heap of consumer and industry accolades, including being named finalist for the prestigious James Beard Foundation Award for Outstanding Bar Program in 2015 and 2018. Trick Dog was also awarded World’s Best Cocktail Menu at the 2017 Tales of the Cocktail Spirited Awards, in addition to its 2014 win for Best American Bar Team. Trick Dog has been named on the internationally recognized World’s 50 Best Bars for the last five consecutive years.
